Simplify Media

My buddy Tyler told me about this application that he uses called Simplify Media. It allows you to connect to your iTunes share from any where you have an internet connection. It even allows you to connect to your iTunes share from an iPhone or iPod Touch.

I have been using it at work for the last couple of days, and I must admit I love this little app. It also allows you to connect to your friends iTunes shares.

It runs on both Mac and PC as a client and will allow you to create shares on linux.

Check it out and send me an invite to your share.

The SAS That Makes SAS Dance Studio

Stacia & Andrea

This is my wife and her business partner, they own SAS Dance Studio. I took this shot a couple of months back, but we never really used it for anything until the other day. I put it in their recital program. I really like the shot, my only regret was not using a fill light on their faces, oh well.

SAS stands for Stacia & Andreas Studio. I actually came up it as a joke but they really liked it and it stuck. I think it fits them well.

I am extremely proud of my wife, she has been able to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. I wish them the best of luck at their recital.

Site Has Changed

I have changed the theme of the site. Let me know if you have any issues with your browsers. If you say you have a problems in IE, the complaint may fall on deaf ears, sorry, use Firefox or just about any other browser on the planet.

The theme is based on Thord Daniel Hedengren’s, One in a Million theme. In my opinion it does not really resemble his theme too much anymore, I thank him for the start of my current theme though.

Time Lapse To Work

Driving To Work - Time Lapse from Jon Lawrence on Vimeo.

This is a time lapse I shot today as I was going to work. I started the video from the gas station by the corner of my house. I used my little Canon SD550.

Unfortunately the camera decided to stop recording after 20 minutes, so I have a real time gap of about a minute before I could hit the record button again, about halfway through you see a jump between the 2 clips.

I pushed the passenger seat back all the way and set up the tripod on the floor.

It is a good thing my drive to work is not longer than 30 minutes, on my 2 GB card I have can only get 33 minutes of footage @ 640×480.

UPDATE: I removed my local version of the video and replaced it with the Vimeo one. I would have done this from the beginning but Vimeo was not allowing uploads due to server maintenance.

Red Ring Of Death: Part II

This is what we call the Red Ring Of Death on the Xbox 360. I have the uncanny ability to discern this symbol due to my vast experience with it.

I have now received my 2nd R.R.O.D, and I have to admit it is starting to tick me off. I am grateful that Micro$oft is willing to man up over the situation and extend the warranty, but why did they not give me one that was fixed.

So now I get to wait a week to receive the shipping box to send it back to them, they then “analyze” the machine to figure out the problem (as if the millions that have come in before mine have not tipped them off). Then they take about 4 weeks to get back my new one. I just hope they give me a fixed 360 this time.

I know many others have gone through a lot more than I have, but this process can’t be helping Micro$oft$ profitability.

Micro$oft, I love your product when it works, it is the one product of yours I actually enjoy using, please get a clue and fix it!!!
